Syagrus campylospatha is a dwarf, solitary feather palm characterized by a predominantly subterranean or short above-ground trunk. When a visible stem develops, it generally measures less than 1.5 meters in height. The canopy is composed of pinnate leaves with narrow, rigid leaflets that maintain an upright to slightly arching posture. The foliage exhibits a glaucous, grey-green to silvery-blue coloration. As a monoecious species, it produces inflorescences that emerge from a distinctly curved spathe. These flowers yield small, yellowish, ellipsoid fruits upon maturity.
Native to the open savannas and scrublands of central Paraguay and the state of Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil, this species is adapted to sandy and rocky soil profiles. In cultivation, it requires well-draining soil and full sun exposure to maintain its compact form and glaucous leaf coloration.
