Wodyetia bifurcata, commonly known as the foxtail palm, is a medium-sized palm, it has a smooth, light gray trunk and a self-cleaning fronds, with a slightly swollen base. Its most distinctive feature is its bushy, plumelike crown of pinnate fronds, which resemble a fox’s tail. The fronds are bright green and grow up to 2.5–3 meters (8–10 feet) long. It produces orange-red fruits.

Native to Queensland, Australia, the foxtail palm thrives in well-drained soils and full sun. It is moderately drought-tolerant and wind-resistant, adapting well to a range of conditions. It can tolerate cold temperatures down to around -3°C (27°F) for short periods. Its unique appearance, ease of maintenance, and adaptability make it a favored choice for ornamental landscaping in tropical and subtropical climates.
