Brahea armata – Mexican Blue Palm Seedings

Brahea armata, commonly known as the Mexican blue palm or blue hesper palm, is a stunning, slow-growing palm that typically reaches heights of 9–15 meters (30–50 feet). It has a stout trunk and a striking crown of rigid, fan-shaped leaves that are silvery-blue in color, each measuring 1–2 meters (3–6 feet) wide. Long, arching flower stalks, up to 5 meters (16 feet) in length, produce creamy-white flowers followed by small, round, yellow fruits.

Native to arid regions of Baja California, Mexico, this palm thrives in well-drained, sandy soils and full sun. It is exceptionally drought-resistant and highly tolerant of wind, making it ideal for challenging environments. The Mexican blue palm can withstand cold temperatures as low as -12°C (10.4°F), making it one of the hardiest fan palms.
